A former AFFCO freezing works, now a bustling local petfood export business, gets a vibrant makeover.
Refreshing the neglected exterior of an old building, once an AFFCO freezing works turned petfood export hub. Standing 10 meters high, these walls hadn’t seen paint in over 30 years.
Access and safety took centre stage. Armed with knuckle boom and harness gear, working at heights became second nature. We created a potent concoction to soften the old paint, then wielded the waterblaster to wash it away; we had to cover the drains with geo textile cloth and spill kit sausages to stop the debris getting in. Drain blockages were a must, given the banana milk-like runoff. A primed canvas emerged, with a coat of Galvo1 primer and two coats of Summit Roof Paint. A sturdy concrete base was sealed with a coat of concrete primer and two coats of Sonyx.
